520 _aThis research is based on the observation that none of the former followers of the politico-religious sect VUVAMU is an effective member of the local Church `` La Grâce de Dieu '' of the CECA-20 of Bwadi in Kinshasa despite their numbers so remarkable in the neighborhood. This observation prompted me to wonder about what makes the followers of the CECA not succeed in making followers of VUVAMU disciples of Jesus Christ? The investigations started from the assumption that if the Christians of the ECSC were established disciples: (a) they would be resolutely committed to the evangelization of the followers of VUVAMU; (b) they did not remain inactive and did not allow themselves to be intimidated by them; (c) they would defend sound doctrine in the face of false teachings from sects such as those of VUVAMU; (d) they mobilized all the necessary resources for the evangelization of the followers of VUVAM. Richard Osmer's model of practical theology served as a methodological framework to verify the said hypothesis. After investigations, it emerges that the ECSC has not yet won members of this sect in Christ. This failure seems to be justified by the influence of endogenous factors such as the after-effects of historical trauma which make VUVAMU resist the Gospel and; exogenous factors such as ignorance of the worldview of the VUVAMU by members of the CECA, inadequate training which does not take into account their worldview, insensitivity to their needs and mistrust have formed a wall to the evangelical action of the CECA. To change the situation, we have proposed the formation of maturing disciples who multiply, who have a clear knowledge of non-Christian religions.
