Once this question is answered, it will try to show the missiological implications of this relationship that we believe to be one of fulfillment and replacement. Initially, as an introduction, the main problem and its secondary questions will be presented, with the presentation of the chosen research methodology and summary of each chapter. Then, we will present an overview of the Tabernacle/Temple in two contexts of inauguration. The first one in the book of Numbers and then in 1 Kings 6-8. From these two analyses we will see the functional roles of the Temple as a place of dwelling, revelation, and judgment. An analysis of their social role is also seen, along with hints of future replacement. We will also show the importance of the Temple in the Gospel of John in Jesus' day. This relevance reaches several levels that vary from geographic, religious and also social. This evaluation reaches the apex of the replacement of the Temple by Jesus, this being the new and true dwelling place and revelation of God. Here there is an overcoming of the Temple by Jesus which is the full fulfillment of the real reason why the Temple was erected. And finally, we will show that replacement theology is not a new subject, but we will show one of the reasons for the replacement, which we believe is the centrifugation of the missio Dei that was not fully fulfilled in the Temple due to its staticity, centripetal nature and corruption of the priesthood. After the substitution accounts in John 2-4, Jesus intentionally moves to meet Nicodemus, the Samaritan woman, and then the king's official. This would be a miniature representation of the sketch of the missionary plan that then expands throughout the church in Samaria, Judea, and to the ends of the earth (Luke 24:47; Acts 1:8).
