Se utilizaron entrevistas personales, visitas de observación, estudio de documentos históricos, planes de trabajo y análisis cruzado y comparativo en la elaboración de los resultados. Se tuvo como objetivo proveer un marco de referencia que permita determinar cómo se define y se practica el liderazgo en estas cuatro comunidades evangélicas y si esa definición ha sido o esta siendo influida por valores históricos, culturales o sociales seculares. Concluida la investigación se determinó, que la valoración, creencias históricas y culturales, tienen fuerte influencia en la forma en que se valora, elige y se define tanto al líder como al liderazgo.Summary: The investigation implemented both a qualitative methodology and a non-probabilistic selection method to explore the cultural, social, and biblical conceptualization that is granted to the leader and to the leadership from the understanding and evaluation of a selected group of people from four different congregations in the province of Cartago. Personal interviews, observation visits, study of historical documents, work plans and crossed-comparative analysis were all implemented in elaborating the results. A major objective was to provide a reference framework to determine how leadership is defined and practiced within these four evangelical communities and if such definition has been or is being biased by historical, cultural, or socialsecular values. Upon conclusion of the investigation, it was determined that the assessment and historical-cultural beliefs, exercise a strong influence in the way both the leader and leadership are valued, chosen, and defined.
