Summary, etc. Protestantism was established in Thailand over many centuries. The missionaries laid a great foundation in terms of education, health care, as well as social work. Their effort and energy were put toward enlarging God’s kingdom in Thailand. Many Thai scholars studied and developed an understanding of evangelising the Thai. At last, the Christian population in Thailand has reached 1.1 percent of the population. God has blessed the hard work of Christian members. The Thai clergy took on the role of evangelising the gospel to the people of Thailand in addition to administration of the church, visitation, conflict resolution, ritual, preaching and much more. Insufficient effort was put towards pastoral care. As a result, Thai Christians ‘commitment and faithfulness to the church decreased significantly. This thesis set out to study the life and teaching of Ezekiel to provide a model that could serve as a pastoral theology model for the Thai context. The study took two important areas of the prophet’s life,(1)Ezekiel’s identity—a man who was born, trained and lived with the people, and (2) Ezekiel’s role and function—an exegetical study on his commission as watchman over Israel found in Ezekiel 3:16–27,as a discussion of the understanding of the task and the responsibility of the watchman. The findings have been applied to the pastoral theology model in the Thai context. The model is an integration of the method of care from Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) matched with the watchman implication from Ezekiel. The model contains three phases: 1) Understanding Commission—the commission refers to the mandate in the role of minister toward pastoral care, and that pastoral care skills require special training; 2) Discovering Identity—clergy as people shaped by historical context and value cluster, immediate context with family and the influence of education and operation context, and seeking the core value or spirituality that a minister needs to perform; and 3) Method of Care—a systematic method of showing how clergy could offer care with cultural consideration. The model is intended to become another resource for the Thai clergy as they are fulfilling their commission as pastoral vi caregivers and raising the efficacy of care ability of Thai clergy that could result in the increment of Thai Christians ‘commitment and faithfulness to the church.
